26 September 2011 Match report for Wilmslow Town U11 Jaguars 5 - 4 away defeat to North Trafford Athletic U11 (25/09/2011)
North Trafford Athletic v Wilmslow Town Jaguars under 11's - 26th Sept 2011
The Jaguars started off this week where they finished last with Ben breaking on the right then over to Oliver who's shot was blocked. Harry then thought he had scored with a thunderbolt (as did the crowd) but the referee saw that it had struck the cross bar! Wilmslow were putting on the pressure but it was number seven who popped up for Trafford to put them ahead. Rob put in some good work on the right then Harry ran through with a solo effort and put the ball passed the keepers left - what a cracker for a well deserved equaliser. 'Hot Taddy ' really made his presence felt with well-timed crunching tackles and sound distribution. Will was again immense in defence of his goal and Zaki kept their No 7 quiet for a time - no mean feat. Oliver won a free kick off on the right; Robbie put a pinpoint kick for Harry who forced a great save from their keeper. It was end-to-end stuff and the Jaguars were having slightly the better of it with Ben putting over some sharp crosses and Rob and Oliver coming close. But yet again the Trafford no.7 struck to give then the advantage at half time.
First Half: North Trafford 2 - Wilmslow Town Jaguars 1 From the off the Jaguars conceded a really unlucky own goal. The game developed an edge and tempers were strained for a time but them James scored a super goal with a well-measured shot after some good Jaguars pressure. Trafford came back straight away to make it 4 -2 then Trafford scored again from a high lob to perhaps put the game past the Jaguars. Jack C was not accepting defeat however and scored a great goal, stroking the ball past the keepers left. Will made another fine save, pushing the ball against the post then the Jaguars tried desperately for an equaliser but it was not to be. This was a scintillating game with goals galore and plenty of controversy, all the supporters will have the next match red circled in their diaries!
