Jaguars in need of point - Jaguars on the prowl for points

 

It was a dry cloudy day at the Jaguars home ground in Wilmslow. The boys were in need of a few points from the remaining games of the season to climb up the table. They started off very well with Tadiwa following up on a blocked Robbie shot to put the Jaguars ahead. Central came straight back though with a terrific thunder strike that found the gap between Oliver’s outstretched arms and the bar to make it one all. It was the all end to end action, James had a great shot saved then Robbie had one tipped over by the Central keeper. JackC was again getting stuck in with fine tackling skills, Zaki was strong in defence and Harry and Tadiwa were coming back to help out. Just before the break, Harry did a chip & pin point accurate shot but the Central keeper saved.

 

From the off, JackC made another important tackle then at the other end Robbie won a corner after another of his trademark looping shots. Sam came on and straight away put a cunning pass through to Harry to force another fine save from their keeper. JackK then made a great run through the middle, Robbie made a twist & shot manoeuvre that was saved and Harry’s follow up shot went wide. The Jaguars pressure finally paid off though with Harry picking up the ball on the line and twisting a shot around the post to get the important breakthrough goal just before the end of period.

 

Manager Mark must have fired the boys up during the break as they were up & out quickly straight from the whistle. Harry saw a couple of shots blocked but then Robbie back heeled into the net to put some clear water between the teams. Oliver was called on to make a couple of good saves and Sam had a thunder strike go just wide. James came very close to a Jaguars fourth goal but their keeper pulled off another good save. The ref blew for full time and brought an end to another pulsating game but importantly a Jaguars win. There may have been some bad feeling expressed by the Central elders but this didn’t spoil the Jaguars celebrations.
