Local derby thrills to the end - can the boys bounce back after last weeks washout

Match report for Wilmslow Town U10 Jaguars 2 - 2 away draw with Wilmslow Sports JFC U10 Colts (12/02/2011)

Wilmslow Colts v Wilmslow Town 10’s Jaguars – 12/2/11 at Lindow

It was back to glorious blue skies with a slight chill for this important derby clash after the washout and loss last week. The boys were not at all down cast at Upcast and it was the Jaguars who got off to the best start. Robbie put a great ball through to JackC who shot just wide then the Colts made an effort but Oliver was out well to save. The ball was straight back up the field with Robbie making a brilliant attacking run on the left; he then put a cheeky chip over the keeper for Steph to put the ball in the back of the net with JackC there helping out also. It was really end to end and the Colts saw a great shot pushed wide by Oliver but then JackC ran up the pitch, put the ball if the box and, after some terrific battling by Tadiwa, Steph shot through a crowded penalty area to put the Jaguars two up. The Colts came straight back though with a good shot into the corner to make it 2 -1 just before the referee blew for the end of the period.

First Period: Wilmslow Colts 1 - Wilmslow Town Jaguars 2

Will made his first start for the Jaguars and fitted in well. Arun was in action with some hard but fair tackling but it was the Colts who scored next with a great long shot. Steph then hit the post after some great work and the Colts goalie just grabbed the ball. Newby Will then saw a looping shot saved then a Jaguars passing move ended with Robbie having his shot well saved. Zak was yet again very strong in defence and James was full of running. Oliver was called on for another good save , pushing a high ball over the bar. Steph then put a brilliant cross in the a Colts clearance just dibbled past their own post. Just before end of the second period Robbie put over a spectacular cross but it was just too high.

Second Period: Wilmslow Colts 2 Wilmslow Town Jaguars 2

The final period started well with Robbie put through after a great passing move, he passed the ball around the keeper but went just too far wide to get off a shot. After some good defensive work by Zak the Jaguars put another brilliant passing move together that ended with JackK shooting just wide. Robbie did a cunning back header to put Steph in but the Colts goalie saved. Despite all the action there were no more goals and the match finished level. Perhaps the Jaguars were a little unlucky having slightly the better of the chances but it was a thrilling game.
