4 September 2010 Match report for Wilmslow Town U9 Cougars 5 - 2 away defeat to Sale United JFC U9 (A) (04/09/2010)
The Cougar's debut match seen them drawn against Sale Utd.
From the kick off Sale Utd looked a very good side with their No.16 looking like a real star. Sale had all the earlier pressure and took an early and well deserved lead.
Wilmslow in their first competitive match together started to find their own rhythm and got back into the game with some lovely play which resulted in them drawing level at 1-1.
Both teams were now on song and playing some lovely football.
In the second third the score was 2-2 and the game was well poised for a nail biting final third.
The quality of the football in the final third was excellent and there was nothing between the teams until the last five minutes were Sale Utd picked up their game game and scored three late goals to turn well deserved winners at 5-2.
Apart from the last 5 minutes Wilmslow were a match for a very polished Sale side. On the basis of this first performance the Cougars should produce some fine performances in the season ahead.
