13 November 2010 Match report for Wilmslow Town U9 Jaguars 22 - 0 home win against Mountfield Rovers Junior FC U9 (13/11/2010)
The under nine Jaguars returned to winning ways with a new club record. A 22 goal demolition of Stockport Metro B Division side, Mountfield Rovers. The Jags were quite simply awesome. Playing four quarters, to give everyone good pitch time, Nick and John mixed up positions. Big congratulations to Freddie for a clean sheet. Great kicking as well Freddie! Our keeper is brave and confident.
Defenders Joel (1)and Harrison (1) had runs on the wing today, as well as in defence. Great passing, tackling and scoring boys. The return of Connor(2) and Cameron(hat-trick) was significant. Outstanding performances and goals from both. Joe(1) played with great style wide on the left and also did a good job at left back for a short period; his long range shots are the Jaguars secret weapon. Will was off sick. His lightening pace and goals are always missed when he's not around.
Matt(4) , Max(5) and Olly were unstoppable up front. Matt has established himself as a quality winger and striker on the team. Max is a natural goalscorer who clearly enjoys his role. Olly battles hard up front and effectively disrupts opposition defences.
Today Dante(2) put in a cameo performance at right back showing his versatility and determination. More significantly in his preferred right wing position he was a class apart . Freed from his midfield defensive duties, he terrorised the Mountfield Rovers defence with two great goals.
Before today, every outfield player had scored bar one. The last one to score did it in style. Since the first game Jack has made some terrific tackles, long throw ins and goal line clearances. Today he was one of four hat-trick heroes and he showed that he can run with the ball, pass and shoot. This performance should give him the confidence he needs in the games to come. John and Nick have no hesitation in saying congratulations to our Man of The Match.
It would be easy to dismiss this result as a mismatch. However the Jaguars passing and movement was exceptional. The goal of the game saw the ball moved from one end of the field to the other with five players passing and moving for Harrison to finish neatly at the end. A real quality team goal. The whole team played with confidence and freedom. All training ground set pieces were used effectively. We move on to face the best U9 teams in South Manchester. Its simple. Play like this and we can win.
