6 November 2010 Match report for Wilmslow Town U10 Jaguars 1 - 2 away win against Broadheath Central U10 (06/11/2010)
Gun powder, treason and plot? No, it was the Jaguars who were off like a rocket against Broadheath at their home ground. Zack and Jack C started strongly, battling away in midfield. Then it was a Jack to Jack combo rampaging through the midfield that brought some warmth to the Jaguars parents. Jack K followed this up with a guided cross over to Tadiwa who headed just wide. Robbie then got into the action with a super shot that skimmed over the bar. At the other end Jack made a critical last man tackle to put the ball out. From the corner, Broadheath had a good shot that was well saved by Oliver but the rebound was put in and the Jaguars were down. Jack K once again showed strength in tackling then Zack let fly a sizzler from distance then Tadiwa had his shot blocked on the line. Despite good pressure and an excellent first half the Jaguars were down but certainly not out.
First period: Broadheath Central 1 - Wilmslow Town 0
From the off, Steph had a good chance saved then Robbie put over a pin point corner for a Jack K header that went just wide. Following another Jack K and Steph sparkler shot Tadiwa worked himself into a one on one with the goalkeeper but the ball just rolled on frustratingly and the keeper managed a save. Robbie then had a great shot saved then made the pass of the season through to Steph - a real touch of Robbeeeneo magic. As the second period was ticking down, new boy Arun got the well deserved equaliser after a Steph shot was saved. This was the first of what promises to be many goals from Arun and the whole team celebrated in good style.
Second period: Broadheath Central 1 - Wilmslow Town 1
The Jaguars started as they finished, bringing our a fabulous save from the Broadheath keeper then substitute Jamie saw his persistency pay off with a couple of great crosses. Broadheath put some pressure on the Jaguars goal and Oliver made a good save but the ball was soon back up at the right end. Robbie put over another great cross then and James got himself in exactly the right spot and headed into the back of the net to put the Jaguars in the lead for the first time. There then followed a really tense period with action at both ends with Robbie and Steph coming close then it was a real case of deja vu when James was on the end of another Robbie cross but this time the ball hit the post - so close. Soon after the whistle went and the boys, Mark and the parents all jumped for joy as the Jaguars got just reward for their efforts taking all the points.
Final score: Broadheath Central 1 - Wilmslow Town 2
This was a truly well deserved win, everyone can see the boys have been improving week after week and it was great to see all their and Marks efforts turn into point.
