Match report for Wilmslow Town U9 Jaguars 1 - 11 away win against Wythenshawe Amateurs JFC U9 Pumas (18/09/2010)

In another outstanding performance, the U9 Jaguars put 11 goals past Wythenshawe Amateurs Pumas at Hollyhedge Park.

The 1st third saw a hard fought battle with the Pumas looking to avenge last week's defeat. Freddie looked confident in goal, with some powerful kicks. New boy Max McEwan-Patterson scored two great goals and Dante Luca put on an outstanding display, capped by another excellent strike. Cameron was his usual skilful, hardworking self, providing opportunities for his team-mates and was unlucky not to score. Crunching tackles from Jack and Harrison kept out the Pumas before the break. Connor patrolled the midfield, leaving the forwards free to roam. Jack's long range throw-ins created chaos in the opposition defence and should not be underestimated as a secret weapon!

In the 2nd third, Freddie kept up the good work. Joel and Joe stepped into the fray, showing the strength in depth of the Jaguars' defence. Dante continued where he left off, running the midfield with Will, Olly and Matt wreaking havoc up front. Two goals a piece from our joint top scorers, Matt and Will, showed great pace and finishing which few teams could handle.

In the 3rd third, Jack came on as keeper. Joel and Olly battled hard to deny the Pumas, and Joe pushed forward on the left. Using his pace, Will came close to scoring again and Max attacked from midfield. In a determined effort, Wythenshawe pulled one back with a superb strike. Changes then came in the form of Connor resuming his familiar role in the middle, Cameron going to left back and Harrison lining up on the right wing. Harrison had two late charges, one of which saw him going past almost the entire Pumas team only to push the ball just wide of the post. Unlucky 'H'! Matt scored another two great goals to complete a Man of the Match performance and Max completed his debut hat-trick, showing what a great addition to the team he is. Joe White's moment of glory finally arrived, when a free kick near the halfway line gave him the opportunity to unleash his thunderbolt into the top corner of the Pumas net. Great goal Joe!

A special thanks to Cameron who worked hard for the team and stuck to an unfamiliar role in defence for the final minutes of the game. Also thanks to Wythenshawe Amateurs who were fine hosts and twice gracious in defeat. We now look forward to Benchill at home - a fresh challenge which should give us a good idea of how strong the Jaguars really are.
