Match report for Wilmslow Town U9 Jaguars 9 - 1 home win against Wythenshawe Amateurs JFC U9 Pumas (11/09/2010)

Raring to go following last week's victory, the U9 Jaguars faced Wythenshawe Amateurs Pumas at home on Saturday. The home side made a confident start in the opening 3rd, and put Wythenshawe under pressure from the outset. A great pass on the left from Joe presented Dante with his first opportunity to score for the Jaguars, with his second goal coming only minutes later following a terrific run past the Wythenshawe defence. Building on his great success last week, William was quick to secure the Jaguar's 3rd goal following a great through ball from Connor. A Wythenshawe corner provided the opposition with their first goal, the ball sneaking in between the near post and the Jaguar defence. Undeterred, the Jaguars quickly put the pressure back on, and a powerful throw in from Jack in the last minute landed at the feet of William, making the score 4-1 to the Jaguars at the end of the first 3rd.

The second 3rd saw Matthew, Cameron, Joel & Oliver on the pitch and again some great teamwork and determination. The inimitable duo of Jack and Harrison in defence, and a great save from Freddie, meant a couple of strong challenges by the Wythenshawe attack went un-rewarded. A skilful goal number 5 came courtesy of Matthew - a great touch from Cameron's corner. This point in the game saw the onset of torrential rain (so regrettably the match report lacks a bit of detail here!), however the players seemed untroubled, and both teams continued to play with great pace. Harrison, in pretty much a repeat of last week's great effort, made a strong run down the middle of the pitch to score, giving the Jaguars an impressive 6-1 lead at the end of the second 3rd.

The Jaguars kept possession for much of the final 3rd, with an early goal from Connor shortly followed by William's hat-trick. The next goal provided the second hat-trick of the morning - this time for Dante, as he calmly slotted goal number 9 past the keeper. Cameron was relentless in his attack throughout, supported by a determined Oliver, with Joel and Joe proving fearless in defence. Again Wythenshawe had a couple of chances, but they failed to trouble a confident Freddie. The final minute saw a terrific shot from Cameron into the right hand corner, saved quite spectacularly by the Wythenshawe keeper. Final score Wilmslow Town U9 Jaguars 9 - Wythenshawe Amateurs Pumas 1. Another great win boys - well done!
