6 September 2010 Match report for Wilmslow Town U9 Jaguars 8 - 1 home win against Wilmslow Sports JFC U9 Pumas (04/09/2010)
An excited & determined U9 Jaguars (plus a couple of nervous Mangers!) faced Wilmslow Sports for their inaugural game. The opening line up of Jack, Harrison, Joe, Cameron, Connor, Matthew & Freddie put real pressure on their opponents, but despite a number of great chances that first goal proved elusive in the 1st third. Continued pressure in the 2nd third paid off, and saw an early goal by Cameron, shortly followed but a fantastic run down the wing from Harrison and goal number 2. Great goals followed by Joel, William & Cameron yet again, leaving the Jaguars an impressive 5 goals up at the end of the 2nd third. Ollie kept the pressure on up front and Jack provided an unbeatable defence at Left Back. A skilful header early in the 3rd third saw the first goal for Wilmslow Sports, but while they were still in the process of celebrating, the Jaguars were quick to react, and a great 6th Wilmslow Town goal came courtesy of Matthew. A foul on Matthew presented the Jaguars with their first penalty, but with a brilliant save by the Wilmslow Sports goalkeeper the score remained at 6-1. Undeterred, Matthew went on to score goal number 7, and a determined effort by William in the closing few minutes provided yet another goal for The Jaguars. Final Score 8-1 to the U9 Jaguars. Well done boys - we look forward to a great season ahead!
