8 May 2010 Match report for Wilmslow Town U9 Jaguars 2 - 3 home defeat to Altrincham FC Juniors U9 Aces (08/05/2010)
It was back to winter conditions at Lacey Green for the Jaguars last match of the season with a cold wind that kept even the linesman's hands in his pockets. Josh started off well again with a great run through and shot that went just wide. Robbie followed up with a fine shot that forced a corner but the Aces defended well. Sam was as strong as he has been for most of the season in defence and kept the Aces at bay. Just before the end of the period, Robbie and Josh did a neat one-two that forced a great save from the Aces keeper then Jamie put Robbie through who then blasted the ball into the top of the net to put the Jaguars into the lead.

Oliver was then called to action with a couple of great saves then, up at the other end, Harris put in a great cross to create a chance. Kieran, playing his last match for the Jaguars, battled hard as usual. Harry B put a great ball through that was just out of reach of Robbie. It was the Aces though who broke the deadlock with a good goal.

The game was end to end action then with good saves from both keepers then Robbie won a penalty for a foul in the box. Robbie converted the penalty to bring the Jaguars level with time running out. As the referee was looking at his watch, disaster struck! The Aces got another goal with the last kick of the game - there was no time for a comeback.
Final Score: Wilmslow Town Jaguars 2 - Altrincham Aces 3
It was a really exciting match to end what has been a good first season for the Jaguars. The Boys have improved greatly through the season and showed good individual skills but also worked very well as a team. This put them into division three where they coped well.
A huge thanks to 'The Management' Mark and Mark for all their efforts during the season - where would we be without them!
Man of the match: Steph - after a great comeback from his injury layoff.
