Quick passing for U14's - makes all the difference

8 November 2009

Match report for Wilmslow Town U14s 1 - 5 away win against Altrincham FC Juniors U14 (B) (08/11/2009)

Wilmslow won a hard fought game 5 - 1.

Wilmslow took time to get into their stride and scored the first goal, a good strike from the left foot of Joe Swindells, probably against the run of play.

Altrincham soon responded to level the game. Just before half time Joe Gardner scored a cracking goal from just inside the area, bending the ball expertly past the goal keeper.

This was a very close game with Altrincham having their fair share of posession. Great defending and heroic goal keeping from Harry Stobart prevented Altrincham from scoring in the second half.

Some tenacious play from Harry Perry won the ball back from the Altrincham defence, he then fed a great ball through to Paddy Storey who finished with a fine shot.

The difference between the 2 teams was Wilmslow's quick passing and speed of attack which led to Joe Swindells second goal, made by Paddy Storey. Paddy then finished off the game as a contest with a fine shot into the bottom corner.
