The U9's from Brazil - keep up 100% record

18 October 2009

Match report for Wilmslow Town U9 Jaguars 10 - 0 home win against Timperley Athletic U9 (17/10/2009)

After four straight wins everyone was wandering if the Jaguars could possibly keep their 100% record, it took only two minutes and a stunning overhead kick from Robbie for the first goal to prove there was a good chance that they could! Soon after, Oliver came out well to clear but straight from that Harry W went down the left and put away a fine goal to make it 2 – 0 to the Jaguars. Stephan then did some great work on the left and saw his shot well saved by the Timperley keeper. Harry W then made it 3 – 0 then Josh set Robbie up with a great chance that went just wide. Robbie was not to be denied for long though with a trademark header from a corner to make it 4. After another shot hit the crossbar, Harry B[ihnio] played a brilliant one-two that was more like San Paulo than Lacey Green but saw the shot defected for a corner. That brought a splendid first period to a close.

First period: Jaguars 4 – Timperley 0

From the whistle, Steph (ihnio) put in a stunning cross for a Harry W shot to skim over the bar. Sam then crossed to Stephan who put Robbie through but the shot was just off target. Jo showed some great defending on the far left and won a throw in from which he put the ball over to Harry W who went waved goodbye to two tackles and shot in goal number 5 for the Jaguars. Stephan then put a Beckam like cross over to Harry W who slotted in the sixth goal. Jamie made his presence felt in the game and put a pass through to Robbie who easily made it seventh heaven for the Jaguars. Stephan finished off the second period with a log looping shot over the sprawling Timperley goalie for an eight nil lead.

Second period: Jaguars 8 – Timperley 0

Timperley were a player down for the whole match but deserve great credit for how they all stuck to the task and kept trying. They forced a reaction save from Oliver that went for a corner, then another then another. After more corners than Brands Hatch, Sam cleared then shortly after tried one of his long range shots that came close. Jamie then played a nice ball through to Harry B who popped in a lovely goal to make it 9 for the Jaguars. Josh and Jamie combined to cause trouble for the Timperley defence many times and came very close to making it double figures. At the other end Sam was judged to have handled the ball in area and the referee pointed to the spot – this would be the first penalty against the Jaguars this season. Oliver looked small in the big nets but the captains armband must have given him added courage, he dived left and saved the penalty. After this Harry W scored the tenth goal with a wonderful solo effort, running all the way down the pitch then sticking it in the back of the net.

Final score: Jaguars 10 – Timperley 0

Yet again, a great team performance from the Jaguars and they truly deserved their win. Stephan won man of the match for the second time and he just gets better every week. Timperley are to be commended for keeping their heads up for the whole match with a player less. Well done to the Marks for another master class in team organisation!
