5 September 2009 Match report for Wilmslow Town U9 Panthers 1 - 5 away win against Wilmslow Sports JFC U9 Pumas (05/09/2009)
Wilmslow Town under 9 players came back from the summer break feeling fully refreshed, and it showed in the first 15 minute period when Sam D scored from a corner ball which was fizzed in by Sam H. Wilmslow Town played some great passing football and created lots of chances, which Wilmslow Sports were struggling to cope with. Sam H then once again smashed in a corner kick which was to difficult for the Goalkeeper to control and the ball was in the back of the net.

Wilmslow Sports came out of the blocks a lot faster for the Second period and a battle for midfield supremacy had begun, but with our midfield fighting for every ball and passing our way out of trouble we soon soaked up all they had to throw at us. With the help of a couple of really great saves from Tom C we ended the Second period still Two goals up.

Wilmslow Sports were left shell shocked in the Third period when our impact substitute Ben M struck with a goal within the first minute of play, the Panthers could now smell blood and played some good attacking football with lots of confidence. Wilmslow Sports however had other ideas, and scored a goal which was lobbed over Toms head from the touchline leaving him no chance of making a save. The Panthers need not have worried about Wilmslow Sports making a comeback, the fact that they scored seemed to make us all the more determined and we went on to score two more goals both from super sub Ben M who received man of the match for what was now his hat trick on his debut.
All players arrived with a smile and all left with even bigger smiles. All players worked hard and played the game in a spirited way. Well done Panthers.
