The members of this team were all invited to attend the trials in Manchester on 3rd July to find the UK’s most talented and promising young unsigned footballer giving them the once in a lifetime chance to play for one of the greatest teams in the world. - Jose Mourinho's Inter Milan.
Most of the U18’s squad are currently students at Wilmslow High School, studying for a BTEC in Sports Science.
Callum Garner, 17, was in the final group of twenty selected in Manchester before these were cut down to the two to attend a boot camp at the England training ground. Callum is a student at Wilmslow High School planning on going to Sheffield University to continue with his Sports Science studies. In his spare time, Callum also coaches for Wilmslow Football Academy.
Callum already has a prestigious football CV, having played for Wilmslow Sports, Wilmslow Albion, Altrincham Youth and now plays for Wilmslow Town and represents Cheshire at U18’s. With his previous teams, Callum has won two Umbro International Cups, three District FA Cups and four League titles. In 2008 he represented the High School in the Nike Mercurial Vapour Speed Challenge with the final at Old Trafford for the 40 fastest footballers in the country over a set agility course.
