1 March 2009 Match report for Wilmslow Town U13 Cougars 4 - 3 home win against Lymm Rovers JFC U13 (01/03/2009)
Albion had a cracking start with some good attacking play. Despite some excellent tackling by Jez Sumner and solid defending by Andy Knight,Lymm's No. 28 broke through and managed to make it 1-0 for the away side. This did not phase our lads at all with plenty of good attempts on goal resulting in a goal by Harry Perry, scored after a great ball through by Sam Williamson. This was only the start for us as in the 22nd minutes, Logan Stanyer handed Paddy Storey a great through ball to make it 2-1. Before we could blink, Sam Williamson did another one of his brilliant balls to assist Paddy making it 3-1.
Second half saw Charlie Southerton, Rob Nicol, Logan Stanyer, Jack Wightman and Ed Whatson replacing Andy Knight, Joe Pindar, Paddy Storey and Joel Norman.
Lymm put up a good fight and Lymm's lethal No.28 made it 3-2 early into the second half, only to be followed by a penalty awarded to Albion for handball. Logan stepped up to the plate and fired home to give Albion a 4-2 lead. With 15 minutes to go Albion brought on some fresh legs with Paddy Storey, Joel Norman, Mike Towers and Joe Pindar replacing Jez Sumner, Robbie Mecrow, Sam Williamson and Luke Taylor.
Unfortunately, this did not stop the infamous No 28 to sneak past Albion's defense and make it 4-3. Albion were not going to give up their lead that easily and had some excellent moves, with Joel Norman closely marking No 28's every move and finishing with a spot-on shot on target by Rob Nicol, saved only by the Lymm's superb goalie, who put in an excellent performance all through.
