Veterans below par - but still looking for promotion

15 February 2009

Match report for Wilmslow Town Veterans 4 - 0 away defeat to Bedians (15/02/2009)

For the third consecutive league game, Wilmslow Albion Veterans put in a performance that was well below par. The team lacked all the qualities that had seen them start the season so well and they now look in real danger of missing out on promotion.

A Bedians team that had already been beaten twice by Albion this season dominated a game that saw them score their first goal after only 6 minutes. Within 20 minutes they were two up and the score remained that way until half time.

Things got no better for a frustrating Albion team and within 10 minutes of the restart Bedians were 3-0 up. The rout was completed with 12 minutes to go and as the match threatened to boil over with some over exuberant challenges, time was called by the stand in ref, who it must be noted, had an excellent game.
